It was exceptionally hypothermic the day of Lai and April’s session and I don’t know whose bravery I should applaud more, theirs or mine! Hey, we’re Michiganders (or Michiganians or Michiganites – whatever floats your boat) so we know that Oct thru April we’re fair game for frigid weather. But the wind…WOW. In the face of it all, we managed to not only survive but I think I managed to snag a few great shots in the process. April and Lai did ALOT of snuggling and we soon found a warm hiding place in a patch of dogtails that proved to be very beneficial. I had a great time with these two; they’re just so genuine and kind and a ton of fun to hang with. April is a doll and I have to give her a boatload of credit. I knew she was freezing but she kept going and going and she was even able to smile…just long enough to get a few shots before her lips froze to the top of her teeth. Thank you both for a wonderful time. You’re an exceptional couple and the love you have for one another is indisputable. I am looking forward to your wedding and can’t wait for us to create even more unique images together.

Shanelle and David will be married this coming November and I cannot wait to see the look on David’s face when he sees Shanelle for the first time on their wedding day. David has it all; class, charisma, and machismo and the way he loves this woman is no secret. This man will shed tears – I just know it. That’s the unmistakable power of love. And Shanelle…where do I begin? She’s got this amazing, lighthearted spirit and her emails are always so cheerful. Her laugh is genuine and her smile beyond words. Individually they are amazing but together they’re so much more. Simple Perfection.

Shanelle selected the Detroit Institute of Arts for their engagement session since they wanted to send out Save the Date cards and could not wait until Spring. GREAT choice given the weather the day of their session. It was freezing and the wind…holy cow. So we stayed happy and warm as we roamed the halls of the DIA looking for areas to shoot. It was a bit funny at times as onlookers stared trying to figure out if they were local celebs (and they totally looked the part). Thank you for a fun time, you two. I am elated that you found me and honored that you chose me. I’m counting the days until we work together again.

Krishna, Jeff and Kaylee really are more like family than clients and I am incredibly lucky to see them several times per year. To think it all started at their engagement session in 2007 at Meadow Brook Hall (and I remember laughing alot that day too). I look forward to each session with great anticipation so when they surprised me during their summer shoot with the great news that they were expecting once again, I was ecstatic. A session with these guys is always filled with laughter and it honestly feels like I’m hanging out with friends. I love them dearly and I cannot wait to meet their newest edition.
