I am guilty. Guilty of neglecting my hair and visiting my stylist twice per year despite the need for frequent visits. I am also guilty for complaining about the fact that I can’t get to the stylist to do something about my hair that I dislike at least 8 months out of the year. Today I decided make a change and I did something about it – I chopped it off and I gave. 12 inches of hair in a tightly wrapped pony will be sent to Locks of Love, a well known non-profit organization that transforms donated hair into wigs for children 18 and younger who have lost their own hair from disease and medical conditions. Was it easy to part with? One would think it would have been a difficult decision for someone who’s had long hair for the last 15+ years, but once I was in the chair I had no doubts. It feels so good to give and I encourage anyone considering the same to set aside their worries and just do it. Give someone the opportunity to have what they otherwise would not…pay it forward. : )
SHAMELESS PLUG: to my fantabulous stylist, Peter, of Vanity in Birmingham, I thank you. I encourage anyone in search of an amazing stylist to give Peter and his crew a call at 248.723.4433. I guarantee you’ll love his work and his refreshingly positive personality as well!
