Nora + Jamisen

Nora and Jamisen chose the unique and popular Thomas Edison Inn Port Huron for their ceremony and reception and once again the weather gods answered the prayers of many. The skies were vivid blue and dotted with whispy clouds which added to the beauty of the day as Nora and Jamisen professed thier love for one another in a heartfelt outdoor ceremony officiated by a close friend. Light and sound was provided by Platinum Mix Productions as guests danced and mingled beneath the light of a full moon. Yet another gorgeous day!

Jaime + Steven

Weather reports called for terrible thunderstorms in the early afternoon to mid evening though Jaime and Steven’s guardian angels were looking out for them on their wedding day. Severe weather did hit Oakland County in the evening; thankfully, just moments after the bridal party and family were safely tucked inside Andiamos Italia in Warren. The green, crackling skies didn’t put a damper on their party in the least as their loved ones packed the hall and danced to music provided by JD Entertainment in celebration of the new union made this special day. CONGRATULAZIONI!

Elizabeth & Steven were relieved when Mother Nature held back the rain the day of their session (and I have to admit, so was I)! They’re such a fun, laid back couple and I look forward to further torturing Steven on their wedding day in requesting outward displays of affection (sorry Steven, it’s just too much fun).

The Making of a Family

081207

It is rare that I get to meet a bride’s family before the wedding let alone spend time getting to know them on a personal level, so when Sara asked me to photograph her along with her parents, brother, and fiance Ryan, I was ecstatic. This is the home Sara and her brother D.J. were raised in and the minute you cross the threshold you can literally feel the love that fills this space. As I walked from room to room I was taken aback by the care and consideration put into every detail down to the vintage gloves on the side table by the entryway. It is evident that the they put everything they have into all they hold dear and I am honored to have been invited into thier lives, now more than ever.

Jessica and Ben echanged their vows at First United Methodist in Birmingham, a gorgeous church with fabulous architecture and exquisite landscaping. From there we walked the streets of Birmingham for a few off-the-cuff shots then headed to Partridge Creek in Clinton Township for further fun and festivities. Dave and Tracy of Happily Ever After Films captured their wedding on video; they are so laid back and fun to work with and it’s always nice to see familiar faces. Jammin DJ’s rocked the house with some original mixes that kept the bridal party on the dance floor (and their shoes at the head table).
